Another image from Crete. Walking around a village at the western end of the island, I came across this outside someone's house.

Dusk Rocks55 viewsMike Farley LRPS
Worbarrow Bay, Dorset, in the twilight after sunset. I am not sure that cement blocks, possibly left over from wartime defences actually count as rocks, but it would be a less catchy title!

Pulpit69 viewsMike Farley LRPS
The light from a low mid winter sun was illuminating the columns and pulpit at Canterbury Cathedral. I have since returned there, only to find that a large sign has been erected on one of the pillars close to the pulpit. Repeating this shot would now require deft use of Photoshop.

Brighton or Bust!89 viewsMike Farley LRPS
I have lived very close to the route of the London Brighton Veteran Car Run for a number of years, but had never been sufficiently organised to get up early on the Sunday morning of the rally to take pictures. That is until 2007. I was very fortunate that just as I pressed the shutter, the driver of this steam car leaned forward and his passenger looked at him - I could not asked for more. Winner of the photo competition run in conjunction by the LBVCR organisers.

Waiting at the top of Hardknott Pass by the Roman fort on a freezing afternoon for a sunset which was disappointing, this was the recompense.

Shades30 viewsMike Farley LRPS
When the sun is in the right position, the long thin windows at the end of the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern throw these distinctive shadows. A wait of around 45 minutes eventually yielded the desired pattern of vistors leaving the building. Accepted for the 2010 Surrey Photograpic Association biennial exhibition.

Red Kite8 viewsMike Farley LRPS
Gigrin Farm in Powys is an excellent place to take pictures of these magnificent birds as they are encouraged to come in close by being fed at the same time each day. This was actually my second visit and I wanted to return as it had rained on the first occasion. The weather this time? Raining!!!Jul 01, 2010

These words are engraved on the floor of the Great Court at the British Museum, providing the opportunity to make a literal image. Whilst taking the sequence from which this is selected, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who either hung back or apologised for walking through whilst I was shooting, thinking that they might have spoilt the picture!Dec 16, 2009

Piano Grande39 viewsMike Farley LRPS
The Mt Sibillini National Park, Umbria, is one of the most beautiful areas that I have visited. I was there in May, when the wild flowers are in bloom and which really adds to the appeal of the place. The sun breaking through just after dawn was a real bonus at the Piano Grande, which is already a spectacular location.Sep 13, 2009
